There are a variety of online videos and apps available to help you stay active. These include:

  • NHS Fitness Studio Fitness Videos

Take your pick from 24 instructor-led videos across our aerobics exercise, strength and resistance, and pilates and yoga categories.

These workouts have been created by fitness experts and range from 10 to 45 minutes.

  • Couch to 5K

The app:

  • has a choice of 5 trainers to motivate you
  • works with your music player
  • tracks your runs
  • connects you with other Couch to 5K runners
  • Couch to 5K can be completed in as little as 9 weeks, or longer if you want to go at your own
  • Active 10

The Active 10 app records every minute of walking you do (anonymously). Just pop your phone in your pocket and away you go!

  • gives you tips to boost your activity

  • Joe Wicks for older people

Joe Wicks has produced another series of lower impact sessions Over 60? Build core strength with this low-impact Joe Wicks workout | Fit&Well (fitandwell.com). Aimed at older people, the workouts are perfect for anyone with a lower range of mobility or who is new to exercising. There are five videos in the series so far and all are just 10 minutes long, making it  easy to incorporate them into your day.

  • Let’s move with Leon

Let’s Move with Leon is a 12 week programme of 30-minute movement sessions, presented by fitness expert Leon Wormley.

The Let’s Move with Leon classes are a holistic, full-body programme that will improve strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. You don’t need any special gear, and there’s no cost. Leon specialises in working with people with arthritis and related conditions and has a fun, motivational and inclusive approach.

The programme has been created for people with Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions who want more movement in their lives. Created by Versus Arthritis and funded by Sport England.
